WDS Service Spotlight: Service Event Informational Email

Interested in facilitating a TIPP Women’s Shelter event? The WDS Community Service and Public Education Committee has worked to make this process even easier. On the WDS website under “Women’s Shelter Initiative” you can now find a drafted email that can be easily tailored and sent to multiple community sites. This pre-set e-mail provides a brief synopsis of the WDS goals along with what a TIPP event consists of – all you must do is find a community organization’s contact and hit send!

Copy and Paste the below text and photos into your email:

Hello (shelter contact),

My name is (name) and I am a (derm resident, dermatologist, medical student, etc.) at (place) (link to bio if you have one, to show legitimacy).

I am contacting you as a representative of the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS). WDS strives to be the premier organization cultivating personal and professional development of women dermatologists dedicated to excellence in patient care, mentorship, volunteerism, leadership, and service. We would like to work with your organization to coordinate an educational opportunity for the women you serve.

WDS created a service program, the Transforming Interconnecting Program Project (TIPP). The mission of the TIPP is to lift up women in our community. By treating the total woman, we hope to address all her needs through education about skin care, oral hygiene, self-care habits, nutrition, social skills and more, so that she may go out into the world and be the best version of herself, inside and out.

I am very interested in hosting a volunteer TIPP presentation at (shelter, location). The presentations are about one hour long, with catering and goodie bags provided by WDS.

You may read more about TIPP here: https://www.womensderm.org/community/womens-shelter-initiative

You can see our past TIPP events here: https://www.womensderm.org/community/womens-shelter-initiative/past-shelter-events

Please let me know if you would be interested in this opportunity.

Thank you for your time,
